Life is a journey and along the way we gather pieces that form our lives. Some fit easily; some struggle to find their place. Sometimes we need to make pieces and sometimes we just find them along the road. What are we made of? Happiness, sadness, despair, who knows. We are made of many emotions and events. How are we formed? With love, anger, loss and whatever gets us through the night. For me, it is hope that summons the pieces of my life together to form a connection; to create a dialogue that opens a door to invite the rest of the world to join in. I create pieces from clay, metal, paper, paint, ink or whatever is necessary. I find which pieces need to be together and present them to the viewer to enter into a world of hope. For without hope, we cannot move forward. I’ve worked as an artist as long as I can remember. I’ve evolved along the way, gathering new materials to work with to push me forward into a new adventure. I hope you can find your own adventure in my work.

RETROSPECTIVE AND NEW WORKS

Newark, Delaware. JaneKav Gallery announces the closing of our gallery, after one final exhibition of retrospective and new works from artists Jane Kavanagh Morton and Nancy Kavanagh O’Neill to be displayed at JaneKav Gallery, 625 Barksdale Road, Barksdale Professional Building, Suite 103, Newark, Delaware 19711.

Join JaneKav Gallery for our grand finale as we celebrate individual and collaborative retrospective and new works from Jane Kavanagh Morton and Nancy Kavanagh O'Neill.

In order to continue to create together, while apart during the pandemic, sisters Nancy Kavangh O'Neill and Jane Kavanagh Morton collaborated by sharing works in progress via post and video calls. Combining Nancy's encaustic mastery and Jane’s use of copper wire and copper sheet was an exciting journey. Although they were unable to see each other in person, through the magical delivery of the post office and use of cell phones they completed roughly 20 pieces together. These works will be on display at this final exhibition for Janekav Gallery.

As this is the last show at the gallery, we are including a retrospective of both artists’ works in addition to the new solo and collaborative pieces.

The artists welcome the public to a reception for our opening weekend for this final show: Friday, September 10 from 5-8pm and Saturday, September 11 from 11-3pm.

Visit with our artists and help us bid farewell to a memorable chapter of the arts in Newark while perusing our pottery, photography, encaustic, sculpture, and mixed media works.

We kindly asked that masks be worn. We look forward to sharing one last celebration of beauty with you.

The show will continue through September 23rd. Gallery hours are Mondays through Friday 10am – 4pm and by appointment.
