Having studied with noted artists since childhood and having painted in oils for nearly three decades, Dianne is dedicated to her craft. She specializes in painting from life and has created what she calls the Romantic Portrait, a venue that gives validity to the dreams of her clients. Her style is continually evolving to unite a classical technique with an impressionistic touch.
Owners of her portriats include J.R.R. Tolkien's great grandson Royd Tolkein, Bremerton artist and gallery own Amy Burnett, owner of the Washington State Renaissance and Fantasy Fair Ronald Cleveland, and many others both nationally and Internationally.
Both a studio painter and an open studio painter many of her portraits are created from life as well as from photographs that she takes herself. She was the resident artist for the Washington State Renaissance fair for three years painting portraits from life. Today she hosts an open studio once a month where artists paint a costumed model. In the summer Dianne spends much of her time participating in outdoor plein air events with Plein Air Washington Association.
Dianne is an active member with Oil Painters of America, International Guild of Realism, The Portrait Society of America, Peninsula Art League, Plein Air Washington, and Landscape Painters of America, .
Dianne designs labels for the Bainbridge Island winery Perennial Vintners.
She offers classes in classical oil painting at her studio in the Olalla, Gig Harbor, Port Orchard area.
